I really am sorry that I am not a computer wiz and or good at getting caught up with things. As some of you know I have been really sick most of this year. Not only fighting my liver now I am fighting my heart. And 1 Stroke and 2 TIAs. So anyways I need o hire a secretary to help keep this blog site up to date. i do apologize. This years HepFest was great. Being sick made i to were I was down to the last minute getting tings in order. I want to say thank you big time to all the folks who attended, thanks to the wonderful music that was provided for us by Don Lefever and Testimony. And a thank you to the volunteers who help get everything set up and tore down. You are awesome. I also want to thank the public businesses who donated prizes for the free raffle we had. Very nice of you.
I want to say when I started this whole idea of bringing awareness to my community and starting a support group was scary for me. Firs because of the stigma. But I prayed hard when I was diagnosed and then my daughter when she was diagnosed the prayers really got big time prayers. I live in an area where there were no support groups and or much awareness out about about Hepatitis C. There was a great big sigma on the whole idea of the disease. This disease called the Silent Killer. because so man are afraid of what others will say. Well in my prayers God told me stat a support group and follow each and every dream, idea ext that I might have because this community needed me. They need that person to take the first step and come out of hiding and say It is okay to have Hepatitis C because that is not what makes me who I am it is just something that I have. Two big time different things. Well so far after almost 8 years of starting the support group and putting on the HepFest and other events that I do this commuinity is showing that they do have a heart and want to reach out and help the people who are afraid by holding their hands or giving a hug or giving in anyway they can to let those suffering with Hepatitis C know they are okay to come out about what they have. And that this community will love them for who they are not what they have!!!! I want to send a great big thanks out to my group of almost 100. Not many come o group some still fearing the stigma but they are reaching out for hone support or email. And thank You to the community for caring like you do. And for the part of the community who still put a stigma cooty factor on Hepatitis C well shame on you. God loves us all so you should too! I will close with this and try to keep up on this blog better. Please feel free to call me with an questions, concerns, fears, sadness, ext that you may have anytime at 260-927-8180!!!!!!
I love you all!!!! Also let me throw in that DeKalb County Health Dept is now testing for free for Hepatitis C. No more me having to send them to Allen county or them waiting on the Hospital to do their free testing for the HepFest. Hugs to you all. You may also contact me at   ladytruckt1962@mediacombb.net   Bye for now!!!!! Hugsssss to all!!!!! Stop suffering alone being silent is something no one should ever have to do about anything!!!!!!! Reach out we do reach back!!!!
